What Are Wrinkle Relaxers?

BOTOX® Cosmetic and Xeomin contain very small amounts of botulinum toxin A. This neurotoxin blocks nerve impulses and reduces muscle contractions that can result in fine lines and wrinkles. These products are recommended to reduce signs of aging that develop around the eyes and in the brow. Many choose this treatment to reduce the two vertical lines that can develop between the eyes, often called the 11s. What to Expect on the Day of a BOTOX®, Xeomin, or other Wrinkle Relaxers

Our highly trained doctors will perform your BOTOX Cosmetic or Xeomin injections themselves. Your face comprises a network of 43 muscles. Our surgeon and team are experts in facial anatomy, and they can determine the best locations for your injections to achieve your goals. They will plan your treatment to result in a natural-looking enhancement.

The treatment itself will typically take about 15 minutes. Our surgeons can numb the injection site before treatment to maintain your comfort. However, most patients feel nothing more than a slight pinch when they receive their injections, so the numbing is not usually necessary. It can take a few days before the effects of BOTOX Cosmetic or Xeomin become apparent. Depending on dosage and location, BOTOX Cosmetic or Xeomin results can last three months to a year, and you can receive routine injections to maintain the effects.

There is no downtime or recovery after BOTOX Cosmetic or Xeomin, making the injections convenient for busy, active individuals on the go. You may experience minor swelling, bruising, and tenderness at the injection sites. However, these symptoms fade quickly and are not severe enough to interfere with a full return to your normal schedule immediately after your appointment.

You can use ice after your session to ease any lingering soreness or discomfort. The only aftercare recommendation is not lying down, lifting heavy objects, or bending forward for 4 hours after the procedure. This is to minimize the small potential for product migration.
